#1) Classic Dig Dug:
All the fun and excitement is here from the classic arcade version. Your pulse races as you try to elude and defeat the classic villian’s, Pooka & Frygar. The sounds, and graphics are dead-on in this version. This one had me looking for a quarter slot on my iPhone.
#2) Dig Dug Remix:
This is a modernized version of the classic. The layout is fresh, and gameplay is smooth. I might add, this version even surpasses the original, bringing Dig Dug into this century.
New Features Include:
- 5 New Bosses
- Special Tricks per Level
- Special Traps per Level
- 6 Unique Power-Up Items (Ability To Switch Items During Gameplay)
- 3 Difficulty Settings
- 35 Levels
Both version’s give you option’s for changing game controls: You can use a standard D-pad, or opt for the new Flick control. Using the latter, you simply flick your finger across the bottom left corner of the game screen in the direction you want to move. I opted for the D-Pad over the Flick control. The D-Pad for me, just feels more familiar; though with my big gorilla paws, I wish it was a little bigger.
Although I love the classic version, I must admit the new remix version won me over. It’s updated graphics and added features just makes it shine. I think the price for this app is justified; and for all you get, it’s well worth it. So if your looking for a fun app to pass the time, and like the classics, then definitely get this app. It’s another “must have” app for the iPhone/iPod Touch.
